Are you feeling concerned about supporting your grieving loved one? Uncertain about what to say and do, and what information to rely on? Feeling helpless, confused, worried for their well-being?

Everyone’s grief is unique; there’s not really a ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ thing to say or do.

This is where I can help.

There is a way out through the darkness, but it’s not a simple journey. It takes patience, care and love.

I offer a not-for-profit service to guide you to the right support for you and your loved ones.

My Experience With Grief

I suffered the loss of both my parents at a young age, so I have first-hand experience of childhood bereavement.

I struggled alone on my grief journey, but throughout my career, I’ve helped thousands of families cope with grief. I worked as a psychotherapist for bereaved children and young people for over 25 years, and became an expert in traumatic grief.

Writing the interactive Grief Book for children became the platform for launching Grief Encounter in 2004. My goal was that no child would grieve alone, as I did.

Understanding the Spiral of Grief

I can help you to understand how grief works, by using a model of the spiral of grief that your loved one is experiencing.

You’ll feel more confident in your support role: more patient, understanding and able to empathise more deeply.

Life-Changing Bereavement Support

I’ll use my knowledge and expertise to connect your loved one with the life-changing support that’s right for them.

This could be one-to-one counselling, group sessions, family days, or a creative workshop. It may even be sporting or well-being activities. Probably, a combination! You can trust that it will be the right support at the right time.

I’ll guide you through tools and resources to help your loved one cope with their grief and look to the future.

I’ll provide a safe space to share, and support you with kindness and care.

I have a deep appreciation of the importance of family. At nine years old, I suddenly became an orphan. My family was there for me when I needed them most. I’m passionate about supporting your family and friends to get through this journey together.
